Since finding out we are having a baby boy, the million dollar questions has been; “What’s his name?” To be completely honest, Tim and I have no freaking clue. We started a list of names, but both came to the conclusion that we don’t want to make a decision just yet. We both want a name that is strong and means something special to the both of us. We also don’t know if we can handle knowing what our family and friends think about the names we are considering….plus we have to keep a little bit of anticipating going until May!
Even though he may not have an official name until his arrival, until then we continue to call him our McBaby.
This week I also stopped slacking and started documenting my bump – I can’t wait to see how much more it grows over the coming weeks!
Now let’s get into this 21 week update!!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Pomegranate
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 21 Weeks
Next appointment: January 19th
Total weight gain/loss: Another week has gone by and I’ve resisted to step on the scale. What is the point anyway? I’m going to gain weight and I really don’t want to get back into an unhealthy mindset.
Exercise: Boot Camp started back up this week and if this kid doesn’t come out doing burpees, I would be shocked! Even though this time around I found myself taking more water breaks, I still left feeling accomplished and I can’t wait for next week.
Stretch marks: Nothing new.
Swelling: None – rings still fit!
Maternity clothes: Bought some pants and shirts this week to help me get through the work week. The struggle is real in the morning trying to find something to wear….some days I wish my Lululemon workout pants were acceptable work attire.
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: I couldn’t resist buying him more clothes- Everything is just so damn cute!
Sleep: One word can only describe how I’ve been sleeping this week – terrible. Sadly, I’ve gotten use to it and it doesn’t really seem to affect me during the day, but I’m ready to crash by 8 PM.
However, the baby has been pretty active around 3:30 AM this week so I do enjoy being restless at night so I can feel him moving around.
Food cravings: Pineapple, especially if I drizzle some chocolate on it. I may be selfishly liking pineapple a lot too because it gets the baby moving. I just love feeling his little kicks or jabs.
I’ve been also loving smoothies a lot this week. I love how easy they are to make in the morning and how much nutritious food I can pack into them.
Food aversions: Sadly I think I got to a point this week where I would eat just about anything.
Symptoms: Leg cramps and headaches have been torturing me all week long.
How is dad doing? Dad is getting impatient and wants to feel those baby kicks!
What I’m looking forward to: McBaby check up next week – can’t wait to hear my little buddy’s heartbeat again.
We also ordered the crib for the Nursery and its being delivered on Saturday morning – I can’t wait to start decorating!
Missing anything this week? A full night’s sleep.
Best moment this week: Getting back into Boot Camp this week was a real eye opener. I realized that even though it takes me longer to get the work down and I may have to use a lighter weight – I still have all my endurance and agility on my side! My heart is so strong and conditioned for these kind of workouts that it takes me less than 10 seconds to recover from an intense training circuit. I don’t know about you, but I’m impressed that my body is still able to perform even while creating a tiny human!
I know that some question my decisions on continuing to workout, but every day I’m reminded that I’m doing this not only to make child birth easier and my postpartum recovery quicker, but to make sure my future son has a healthy mom to watch him grow up!
Before I sign off, I want to thank everyone (again) that has been so supportive throughout this while journey. Each and everyone of you have helped make this experience that much more special to us! It makes us that much more excited to bring our baby boy into this world knowing he will be surrounded by so many positive people!
Until next week!
