If you haven’t already noticed, I skipped posting an update for Week 27. Between the pregnancy pains and the long work work; posting a blog update just wasn’t on my “To Do” List. Even though during week 28 I was still experiencing some body aches, the Prenatal Yoga class I took on Sunday morning sure did help relieve a lot of my stress!
This week was bittersweet for us – we were so thrilled to finally reach the Third Trimester, but then a small part of us wanted to mourn the loss of our first baby. March 2nd marked a year since we walked into the OB’s office anxiously waiting to see our baby for the first time; only to have our world turned upside by the dreaded words, “unfortunately, we were unable to find a heartbeat.” Even though we have completely accepted what happened and are beyond grateful to be pregnant today, we can’t help but be a little emotional that we will never meet our Angel Baby.
Since we cannot change the past, lets focus on that Week 28 McBaby update!!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Eggplant
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 28 Weeks
Next appointment: March 16th – we are super excited for this appointment because we get to have an ultrasound. We can’t wait to see our little man!
Total weight gain/loss: +1lb since my last visit two weeks ago…..I’m hoping I can remain steady for the next remaining weeks.
Exercise: Still going to Boot Camp 2x a week, but I’ve been incorporating more rest days, long walks with the dog, and prenatal yoga! I’m thankful every day that I’m still able to be active and have a fit pregnancy!
Stretch marks: There’s one on my stomach that keeps getting more and more noticeable each week. They really don’t bother me – they are my daily reminders that McBaby is growing healthy and strong.
Swelling: None – the rings still fit!!
Maternity clothes: I purchased these capris for the gym at Target and I LOVE them! They are really comfortable and the best part about them is the back. The back panel scoops low so your back isn’t sweating during your entire workout. They were worth EVERY penny! I was able to find them at my local Target, but they are available online here!
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: I took the plunge and bought myself a Boppy Pregnancy Wedge Pillow. I was starting to get a little uncomfortable at night, but really didn’t want a huge body pillow – so far I’m loving the wedge. It adds just enough support for my belly and I can even place it behind my back if needed.
We also bought a closet organizing kit last weekend so we can get started on that soon. Our nursery is finally coming together and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon!
Sleep: Terrible; I wake up every night around 2am to go to the bathroom and then have trouble getting comfortable again. Sadly, I’ve gotten completely use to it and it doesn’t seem to bother me. Except by 8PM I’m soooo ready for bed.
Food cravings: Spicy Chicken Sandwich from Wendy’s to be exact. I refuse to give into this craving just yet…I can’t justify it. I haven’t had fast food since our post-honeymoon hangover layover in Atlanta where we indulged in a large french fry from McDonald’s two years ago.
Food aversions: Nope, I pretty much would eat anything that wasn’t nailed down this week.
Symptoms: Lower back and hip pain. I can totally feel my hips turning out to get ready to get to work soon! Every day I practice my squats to keep those hips loose and ready for child birth.
How is dad doing? Dad needs to pull it together!! This baby is coming in 9-12 weeks whether you like it or not…we can’t put things off for much longer.
What I’m looking forward to: Our ultrasound in two weeks! I can’t wait to see how much our Baby Boy has grown and developed.
Missing anything this week? Not having to pee every 45 minutes.
Best moment this week: Finally reaching the Third Trimester was a big relief for us. Every time we get to check off a box, we are that much more grateful in knowing that we are going to meet our son very soon!
I’m happy to cross off another week and I’m ready to take on week 29!
Until next week!
