After waiting 11 long weeks, we finally got to see our McBaby during week 30! This week we had an ultrasound to check McBaby’s growth and he is doing great!! They are currently estimating that is in the 44th percentile for size and coming in around 3.5lbs. All of his organs are functioning properly and we even got to see his tiny little lungs in action – SO AWESOME!

Our Ultrasound Tech. was a little out there, but she was very nice. We were her last patients of the day and she decided to have a little fun with us. After some love taps on my belly to get McBaby’s hands away from his face and a few sucks on a lollipop; she was able to get an amazing 3D picture of our little man’s face! Once I saw the picture, I immediately looked at Tim and said “oh my God, it’s you!!” I cannot wait a few more months to finally meet our little man and see how much he really does look like his daddy!

What fruit/vegetable are you? Large Cabbage

Due date: May 20, 2016

How far along: 30 Weeks

Next appointment: March 30th.

Total weight gain/loss: Total weight gain is +30 lbs. I’m not very pleased with that number, but I really can’t complain. Everyone keeps telling me I don’t look like I’ve gained that much weight so I’m just going to own it – it is what it is! The only positive note is that my weight gain has definitely slowed down over the past month….I’m hoping I can continue to maintain my balanced diet and stay active!

Exercise: Still going to Boot Camp two times a week and walking a lot. My extra gym days are slowly becoming non-existent, but every day I try to accomplish 50 narrow squats, 50 sumo squats, 50 modified push-ups, and 50 standing crunches. I’m in the mindset now that I am training for the best marathon ever – child birth!

Stretch marks: The ones on my stomach are becoming a little more noticeable.

Swelling: None – rings still fit!

Maternity clothes: I bought my dress for my baby shower from Pink Blush – I can’t wait to show it off!

Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: Some baby swag from our Baby Registry started showing up this week. We anxiously opened up the car seat we received to start getting the dog acquainted with all the new sounds and smells that are about to rock her world in a few short months. We are learning every day that the car seat WILL NOT attack.

I had some leftover Flexible Spending money from 2015 that I needed to spend and I was happy to find out that breast feeding supplies are a qualified expense! My health insurance is going to provide me with a free Madela Breast Pump, so I stocked up on anything and everything Medela. Storage bottles, freezer bags, spare pump parts, nursing pads….the list goes on! I highly suggest that any moms-to-be (or moms currently nursing) who have Flexible Spending Accounts to check out the online FSA Store!

Sleep: I have no problem falling asleep, but staying asleep is whole other issue. I either have to get up to pee, change positions, or wake up from the weirdest dreams. I can’t complain too much because I’m still getting a solid 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep and have been able to squeeze in quick cat naps after work if needed.

Food cravings: Well, just last night I had a must-have craving for a burrito (Yes, on St. Patrick’s Day I ate a burrito). If satisfying my burrito craving wasn’t enough, I went for the spiciest burrito on the menu and I thoroughly regretted it halfway through. I had the WORST heartburn and my stomach felt like it was filled with cement. However, it was so delicious and worth every bite!

Food aversions: Green apples use to be my favorite, but not so much lately.

Symptoms: Well, where do I start? Headaches, my stomach feels like its constantly stretching, backaches, fatigue…oh the list goes on. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way!

How is dad doing?  Dad is doing great, especially since he got to see first hand this week that a mini-Tim is in my belly. He is also a pro at locking in that car seat!

What I’m looking forward to:  We have our first baby class this weekend; Prepared Child Birth and Hospital Tour. Its going to be a long day, but I’m excited to hopefully learn some new things and get us that much more excited for McBaby’s arrival.

Missing anything this week? Plain and simple; RUNNING! I honestly cannot wait to get back into running if my postpartum body allows me to.

Best moment this week: Being able to get a sneak peak at what our little buddy is going to look like was priceless. I still can’t get over how much he sure does look like his daddy!

Depending on how the next few weeks unfold, I may switch to every other week updates. But be sure to follow me on Instagram(@aaangelaa) for daily updates on what McBaby and I are eating, doing, or just plain not doing 🙂

Until next time!
