We all know everyone has been dying to know what McBaby is and we are happy to announce that we will be adding a BABY BOY to our family in May!!! Tim is beyond excited to have a new buddy and I can’t wait to get started on adding lots of flannels and Vans to his wardrobe!! Even though Tim dragged me out of bed at 6 A.M., waiting to open the Gender Reveal Card on Christmas morning was the BEST Christmas gift we ever could have asked for!! Thanks Santa for making this the most memorable Christmas ever.
Week 18 seemed to fly by because of all the Christmas preparations we left to do. Between Christmas shopping, wrapping, baking, and preparing for being out of the office for over a week….I was pretty occupied. It did help a lot that we were both very busy because it kept our minds off the fact that the Gender Reveal Card was just sitting in McBaby’s stocking, waiting to opened on Christmas morning.
The anatomy scan appointment went very well too and we can’t thank the staff at our OB’s office for making this experience amazing for us. During our ultrasound we were walked through just about every inch of our little boy (without giving away his gender – of course) and how much he has changed over the past month. She showed us his brain, his heart, and his teenie fingers and toes….both Tim and I were blown away that there really was a little human growing inside of me. The scan also revealed that our baby boy was already weighing a healthy 9 ounces….we may have a big boy on our hands. Regardless, he had a healthy strong heart beat at 138 BPM and is growing stronger!
Even though this is a week 18 update, we couldn’t resist adding in a few Christmas day updates to kick off week 19!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Sweet Potato
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 18 Weeks
Next appointment: January 19th.
Total weight gain/loss: Official weigh in at my doctors appointment this week showed I remained the same weight from two weeks ago.
Exercise: This was my first week where I didn’t have Boot Camp…..and I survived! It was tough to get to the gym this week because we were busy with getting everything ready for Christmas, but I managed two nights this week to run some intervals on the treadmill. I have been struggling with the treadmill for a few weeks now, so I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to last 15 minutes without having to jump off to pee or feeling like I was going to collapse.
Stretch Marks: Unfortunately, the stretch marks I already had on my stomach from my weight loss seemed to POP this week. Oh well, I’m determined to embrace everything that is going inside and outside of my body.
Swelling: None.
Maternity clothes: I purchased a few sweaters from Target and now I am officially obsessed with their maternity clothes! Everything is cute, affordable, and they wash REALLY well!
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: No new additions in McBaby world during week 18, but lucky for him Christmas fell on the start of week 19 and was spoiled rotten!!
Sleep: Not terrible, but not great.
Food cravings: No big cravings this week, I just miss being able to have multiple cups of coffee in a day. I truly think I want, simply what I can’t/shouldn’t have.
Food aversions: Nope.
Symptoms: HOLY MOLY LEG CRAMPS! I had my first leg cramp this week and it was so incredibly painful. Thankfully, I’ve only had one so far and I hope it was my last one for a long time.
How is dad doing? Pretty happy about life right now….his future fishing buddy will be arriving very soon.
What I’m looking forward to: Feeling our baby boy move around a lot more. I’m starting to feel slight movements and I can’t wait for Baby Daddy to start feeling them too!
Missing anything this week? Since I was able to accomplish my short interval runs on the treadmill a few times this week, I really realized how much I do miss running. I’m going to try my hardest to continue working in those short intervals into my workout schedule ever week.
Best moment this week: Hands down, it was getting to see our baby boy in the Ultrasound this week. It was amazing to see how he has developed so much over the past month since we saw him last. Its crazy how much you can love someone you haven’t even gotten a chance to hold yet.
We hope that everyone near and far had a very Merry Christmas and continue to have a Happy New Year!!
LET THE SHOPPING BEGIN!
