Dear son,
It’s me – your father. You probably won’t know me by name for the first months, but you can always refer to me as, “Dad”.
I have yet to meet you, but my excitement grows more and more as time is getting closer and closer. You are just a few months away and it cannot come sooner.
I just want to fill you in on a few things, so you are ready and prepared to be a member of our little family and life in general.
- Don’t take things for granted. Always say thank you (and mean it). Be respectful and life will be awesome. Trust me. I have years of experience.
- Your mother is your idol. Don’t ever overlook that. She has carried you for 9 months of her life. She will love you unconditionally (as will I) and give you everything you’ve ever wanted. This goes back to #1. Don’t be a smart-ass like your father. Learn by example!
- Be yourself. Don’t ever try to fit a mold or be something you are not. You will see that you will make more out of life and enjoy it more when you are your own person. I will accept you no matter what and love you no matter what.
- Be ready for fishing. If you like it or not, you WILL like it. I really am only kidding, but I look forward to hopefully having a fishing buddy. If you don’t enjoy it – that’s okay. Just don’t get sucked into video games (too much). It’s bad for your eyes and personality.
There will be many more things I will add to this list, but I look forward to giving more and more advice (good or bad).
I can’t wait to meet you…very soon!
Love,
Dad
