This week we had our first baby scare and I don’t know if I could go through another one. On Tuesday night I noticed that I wasn’t feeling a lot of movement during our nightly 9PM play time. I didn’t think much of it until I woke up the next morning with a tight feeling in my stomach and still not feeling any movement. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment that afternoon and sure enough – McBaby was fine!! Heartbeat was a strong 143 BPM and he must of been hiding in the back somewhere which was why I wasn’t feeling much of anything all day. They chalked up the tight/sore sensation in my stomach as round ligament pains, checked my cervix to make sure McBaby wasn’t trying to escape, and then they sent me on my way!

Even though I feel like a hypochondriac calling the doctor, I just knew I was feeling such strong movements for over a week now that if I didn’t go in for a check up that I wouldn’t be doing either one of us any good. I’m so thankful that we have such a great OB office that is willing to take my crazy first-time mom calls!

Now that you got the official McBaby update, lets get into the fun the stuff!

What fruit/vegetable are you? Cantaloupe

Due date: May 20, 2016

How far along: 24 Weeks

Next appointment: February 16th.

Total weight gain/loss: Same weight as I was a few weeks ago when I went to the doctor’s last. Still fighting that urge to weigh myself daily and remaining focused on my nutrition and exercise!

Exercise: Baby and me had a great week of activity…. Boot Camp + Prenatal Yoga + Toning Sessions + 1.25 run outside = PERFECTION!

I couldn’t help but take advantage of the mild day we had on Tuesday and get my booty out there for a run. It was a slow run that then turned into a brisk walk, but nonetheless, it felt amazing to have the crisp air blowing through my hair.

Stretch marks: Nothing new.

Swelling: None.

Maternity clothes: I bought a pair of workout pants from Old Navy, but they ended up being a bust. They were WAY too slim for my pregnancy thighs….back to the store I go!

Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts:  “Does Your Mom Even Lift” onsie – Thanks Uncle Bobby and Auntie Liv!!

Sleep: I’ve gotten so use to my off and on sleeping that it doesn’t even phase me anymore.

Food cravings: Spicy brown mustard – I put that shit on everything!

Food aversions: Nope.

Symptoms: Aside from the baby scare symptoms, I’m feeling great!

How is dad doing? After the scare, he wants mom to relax more!!

What I’m looking forward to: Escaping to the mountains for a mini getaway with the Birthday Boy! I do plan on hitting the Outlets HARD this weekend, but getting to spend some quality time with my baby daddy this weekend will be great—and much needed!!

Missing anything this week? That teaser of a run I had on Tuesday really makes me want Spring to hurry up and come. There is no better feeling than lacing up your sneakers and hitting the pavement. It provides me with a great release and truly makes me happy.

Best moment this week: Unexpected heart beat check 🙂 Wish it was under different circumstances, but I will never pass up an opportunity to hear my son’s heartbeat just one more time!

Can’t believe there are only 15ish more weeks to go until we can meet the newest member of The McAuliffe Family!!!!

Until next week!

XO,
Angela
