I started off week 19 feeling great, but that was short lived. Once Monday morning rolled around I woke up with a terrible head cold. Even though I couldn’t breathe out of my nose, it wasn’t going to stop me from starting our baby registry this week! Since its rare that we both are home after Christmas, I wanted to take full advantage and check some things off of my to-do list.
On top of being sick, our baby girl Bailey had to have surgery on Tuesday to have a bump on her back removed. Having to take care of our puppy patient while being sick was great training for once McBaby comes. My maternal instinct totally kicked in and all I could focus on was making sure Bailey was comfortable so she could have a speedy recovery! How can you resist that sweet little face??
I spent the rest of the week sleeping….blowing my nose…sleeping some more….and some more sleeping! As much as this wasn’t exactly how I wanted to spend my week off from work, I’m happy I had no where to be and could really focus on getting well.
What fruit/vegetable are you? Mango
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 19 Weeks
Next appointment: January 19th.
Total weight gain/loss: I was brave enough to weigh myself after a long week of Christmas indulgences and surprisingly I was the exact same weight as I was last week….thanks baby!
Exercise: Once Monday rolled around, exercise was non-existent because of my sickness. Trying to fit in some sort of activity seemed to be too much of a task when I couldn’t even breathe out of my nose.
Stretch Marks: Nothing new – I have been using my belly butter two times a day and it seems to be working wonders.
Swelling: None.
Maternity clothes: I received some shirts to add to my maternity wardrobe for Christmas. I also received a few gift cards and was anxious to go out shopping, but I had no luck! I quickly realized that I don’t have patience for messy stores after Christmas.
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: Since we found out that we are having a boy, we both couldn’t resist buying some clothes. We took advantage of the huge sale on Carters.com and started building our baby boy’s wardrobe.
We also ventured into Baby Registry land this week. We spent Monday afternoon walking around the baby stores playing with the strollers, car seats, and anything else we could get out hands on….I don’t know if Tim had as much fun as I did, but I could of stayed there all day.
Sleep: Considering I couldn’t breathe out of my nose for most of the week, my sleep was terrible.
Food cravings: After a week of macaroni, cookies, brownies, ice cream, bagels, donuts, buffalo chicken nachos, Chinese food, and a greasy steak and cheese sub – all I want now is GREEN VEGGIES!!
Food aversions: Nope.
Symptoms: Just some lovely round ligament pains…..I’m so happy to have then it means baby is growing.
How is dad doing? Now that the news of having a boy has finally sunk in, he is getting more and more excited for May!
What I’m looking forward to: I absolutely love decorating and organizing, so I can’t wait to get started on the nursery!
Missing anything this week? Clean eating….we really indulged a little too much this past week and I almost feel like it wasn’t worth it. I think being sick on top of it didn’t help me at all. Its a new week – its time for a fresh start!
Best moment this week: Even though I was under the weather most of the week, it was nice to have a whole week off and spend the time with Tim. It really sunk in that this is going to be last Christmas break we will ever have just being a family of three.
Until next week…..
