No big news to report in McBaby world this week except for it was kind of a roller coaster of a week. Some days were better than others, some days I cried more than others, and some days I just wanted to sleep more than others. BUT I survived it. I thought the second trimester was supposed to be the ‘honeymoon phase!!” I felt so stressed out this week and I don’t know if its from all of these hormones taking over my body or the year-end prep I have to do at work. Either way, the gym came to my rescue a lot this week. The gym is truly my happy place and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have it.
Let’s get right into those McBaby stats for week 17!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Onion
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 17 Weeks
Next appointment: December 22nd!
Total weight gain/loss: I weighed myself once this week to keep myself accountable for some of my actions and I remained the same from last week.
Exercise: I got in so many great workouts this week, but by Thursday night I started to feel a little run down. I see lots of stretching and yoga in my future.
Stretch Marks: Nothing new.
Swelling: None.
Maternity clothes: No new additions again this week, but some of my shirts are beginning to be a little too small. I smell a shopping trip this weekend!
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: Nothing new this week, just wait until after Christmas!
Sleep: I have been falling right asleep, but I can’t stay asleep. I officially cannot make it through the night without a bathroom break and getting myself back to sleep afterward has been a task.
Food cravings: Butter – my body is telling me it needs fat. I tried adding some more avocados into my diet this week to curb that fat craving, but apparently its not cutting it. I know that fat is essential for growing baby’s brain so I don’t want to ignore this craving at all. BUT a nice warm roll with some butter sounds soo delicious right about now.
Food aversions: Udon Noodles; I usually put some in the chicken stir-fry I make and this week I just couldn’t stomach them. I think it was the texture of them that I couldn’t stomach.
Symptoms: Headaches – all day, everyday.
How is dad doing? Dad really needs to learn how to relax, he is starting to stress this mama out.
What I’m looking forward to: This time next week we will finally know the gender of McBaby!
Missing anything this week? Unlimited amounts of caffeine.
Best moment this week: This week at Boot Camp we had to do a 300 workout (50 reps of each exercise) of burpees, pushups, jumping jacks, squats, hip raises, and v-sits. I was able to finish all the exercises in under 3 minutes and I finished second. I was so proud of Baby and I for being able to group the exercises into manageable groups and get the work done! Our bodies are an amazing machine and if we just put a little work into it – it can bring us to do great things.
Well, this time next week we will be hopefully sharing the gender of McBaby! We are still curious to hear what your thoughts are? Will will have a Mr. or a Mrs.?
