I can’t believe that last week was the final week of my First Trimester! It has been a roller coaster of emotions, but I’m so greatful to finally be where we are today! Now that I’m finally feeling like myself, aside from the occasional mood swing (Sorry Tim!), I’m ready for the Second Trimester to begin!!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Peach
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 13 Weeks
Next appointment: December 8th
Total weight gain/loss: Staying away the scale! I’m focusing on eating healthy and getting in at least 30 minutes of activity every day.
Exercise: On Sundays I have been making it a routine to check out www.toneitup.com for the weekly workout schedules that Karena and Katrina post. I love adding their workouts to my weekly routine because they are easy to do at home, but are perfect to bring along with me to the gym. A typical weekly schedule for me has been;
Monday: Stairmaster or Cross trainer + Lower Body Toning
Tuesday: HIIT Routine or Incline Walk + (pregnancy safe) ABS
Wednesday: Boot Camp
Thursday: 2 Mile Walk + Stretching/Foam Rolling
Friday: Boot Camp
Saturday: Rest Day aka run errands and other wifey duties
Sunday: Sunday Runday
This has been my second week in a row that I have been able to stick to a schedule and I feel great!
Stretch marks: Nope.
Swelling: None.
Maternity clothes: Old Navy was having a sale over the weekend so I stocked up on tank tops and camis…. A girl can never have too many!
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts: I had the intention of purchasing the book ‘Are You My Mother” but my pregnancy brain must have gotten in the way of me bringing it to the register to actually buy it.
Sleep: Aside from the strange dreams about snakes and falling off of buildings, I have been sleeping great this week. Fingers crossed that this isn’t short lived!
Food cravings: Strawberry milk and healthy salads drenched in blue cheese dressing. I’ve also been dreaming of a pizza from Dominos all week long, but I’ve successfully fought off that craving….so far.
Food aversions: My go-to chicken stir fry dinner was a no go this week. I just couldn’t stomach it for some reason.
Symptoms: This week the backaches started. I may need to invest in a better chair at work if this continues.
How is dad doing? Dad can’t stop telling the world he is going to be a daddy….I’m glad to see he is just as excited as me!
What I’m looking forward to: I can’t wait to spend the upcoming weekend in New Hampshire; there is nothing like the fresh mountain air in November! Also, Thanksgiving is coming up and we get to take our annual trip down to NY for a much needed McSibling hangout.
Missing anything this week? Not having to pee every half hour.
Best moment this week: A lot of really good things were celebrated this week…. 2 years ago on the 17th, Tim proposed to me and 12 years ago on the 19th, Tim asked me to be his girlfriend. If these special days never occurred, we wouldn’t be welcoming our first born in almost 6 months! I’m so grateful to have such an amazing person by my side, especially when he takes his pregnant wife out for sushi and a Shirley Temple.
I’m hoping that I start showing soon so I can start posting some bump photos!! We will see what next week has in store for us.
