Tim and I both wanted to document our entire journey becoming first time parents. We didn’t want to let one moment slip by so we decided to create this website to allow our family and friends to come along on this journey.
I will do my best to post an update every week on how our little McBaby and I are doing. And of course, there will be a Daddy update too!
What fruit/vegetable are you? Grape
Due date: May 20, 2016
How far along: 9 Weeks
Next appointment: November 12th – I cannot wait to finally hear our little baby’s heart beat.
Total weight gain/loss: At my last appointment I gained 2lbs.
Exercise: With my energy levels starting to come back, I am slowly getting back into my gym routine. Walking, light jogging, and weight training has been my exercise of choice this week.
Stretch marks: Unfortunately, I already have some stretch marks (or wicked awesome lightning bolt marks as I like to call them) from my drastic weight loss almost 3 year ago. With the help of Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter, I’m hoping to fight off any new ones to form. BUT, if they do I will embrace every single one of them.
Swelling: Minus the fact that my belly feels like a water balloon; nope!
Maternity clothes: I just purchased my few maternity staples this week. I bought two pair of jeans and a few shirts from Motherhood. They were having a huge Columbus Day sale and I couldn’t resist. Who can resist jeans for $19.99?
Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases or Gifts? My morther-in-law gave us our first outfit!
Sleep: Not terrible, but not great either. I have no problem falling asleep, but staying asleep is the issue.
Food cravings: Pickles and spicy brown mustard.
Food aversions: Lettuce – for anyone who knows me well enough, they know this is sad news. I can’t even enjoy a nice salad at lunch right now because the smell of it makes me want to vomit.
Symptoms: Bloating and horrible acne.
What I’m looking forward to: Telling my nephew and nieces the news!
Missing anything this week? I’m not craving beer, but I do miss enjoying/trying new beers with Tim. At least he lets me sniff it!
How is dad doing? Dad is doing well…he is VERY excited that he will have a new fishing buddy this Summer!
Best moment this week: We went for an early ultrasound at 7 weeks 4 days and going back this week at 9 weeks 4 days was amazing. Seeing how much our little baby has grown and seeing its heart beating at 151 BPM, was pure joy. Our dream of finally becoming parents is finally coming true!
